It’s All About the Trees

The Carroll County Forest Conservancy District Board is hosting a spring Workshop on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church – 961 Johnsville Road, Sykesville, Maryland, 21784.  Experts from Federal, State and local agencies will present on a range of interesting topics, such as local trout streams, stream restoration, paleoecology, forests and climate change, bog turtles and riparian wildlife, forest and tree insects and diseases, and more. The Registration fee of $50./person includes Continental breakfast, snacks, lunch and handouts.  Proceeds will help send Maryland High School students to the 2020 Natural Resources Careers Camp.

This workshop is open to all interested adults (16 and over, or accompanied by an adult). The workshop is approved for 2 Maryland Licensed Tree Expert credits, Society of American Forester, International Society of Aboriculture, Maryland Pesticide Applicator recertification, Master Gardener, Master Naturalist and 4 Maryland/Delaware Master Logger Continuing Education credits.
